Here are a few things that we have been working on:
Reading-We learned about animal life cycles this week (butterflies and frogs). We read a nonfiction book and an article to learn about each phase of the life cycle. We discussed some new vocabulary. Today, students created a butterfly life cycle using pasta and rice!
Writing-This week, we continued to add more details to our personal narratives. We also read Froggy books and practiced using some special features (transition words, ellipses, sound effects, and all CAPS) in our writing. We used the Froggy books to investigate how other authors use these special features.
Math-We are working on telling time to the hour and half hour. We will take our Topic 13 test on Tuesday. I am sending home the review page for this topic today. Please go over it with your child and return it to school by TUESDAY!!
Science-This week, we investigated different animal parts and how the animal uses it. We talked about different animals' ears and noses. Students got to choose a set of animal ears and an animal nose. They illustrated their face with the animal part and wrote about why they chose that animal. These projects are displayed in the hallway! You should come check them out!
